Fireproofing
Passive Fire Protection products (commonly referred to as Fireproofing) are used to prevent or delay the failure of steel and concrete structures exposed to fire. These materials are intended to insulate the structural members during the event of a fire, delaying any loss of the integrity of the structural members. Spray fireproofing is the application of sprayed fire resistive materials (SFRM), typically classified as Cementitious mixtures or Sprayed fiber materials, to a rated floor or steel structure to protect the building component from fire for a given period of time and maintain the structural integrity of the building.
Intumescent Paint
Thin film intumescent fire resistive coatings are paint like coatings which can be sprayed onto structural steel elements to protect the building structure for up to 4 hours in the event of a fire. The intumescent coating is designed to expand and char to insulate and protect the steel.
Intumescent coatings provide fire protection as weel as an aesthetically pleasing, durable and cost effective finish for structural steel elements inside a building.
